What Producers Look for in a Screenplay Query

What Producers Look for in a Screenplay Query In my decade or so at Treasure Entertainment, I actually got a large number of question letters from youngster essayists urgent to hook their way to the highest point of the read heap. Need to think about what number of I reacted to? In the event that you said under two dozen, you’d be a victor. This isn't to dishearten you from questioning makers, but instead to commute home the truth that opposition is furious and numerous letters get hurled. Notwithstanding, there are a great deal of things you can do (and abstain from doing) in your question to expand your odds that a maker will really demand the content. Here are the absolute generally conspicuous: Know Who You’re Querying Research the organization you’re sending the letter to. Comprehend what sort of pictures they produce. Fortune produces specialty kind movies under $10 million, yet I can’t disclose to you how often I got questions about a $75 million period dramatization. In the event that you contribute something that’s their wheelhouse, you have a greatly improved taken shots at a reaction. Start with a Solid Logline Don’t wander through some roundabout acquaintance that powers the maker with discover your story. This is your opportunity to truly sell it. Line that up with a short one-passage

Innovation and Leadership

I just read McKinsey Consultings fascinating interview with director Brad Bird. While McKinseys focus was on the lessons one can learn about innovating from one of the worlds most innovative companies, Brad Birds story was also a story of laudable leadership. Many applicants find leadership the most difficult of the MBA qualities to demonstrate in their applications. It is not just about managing a team; it is about generating exceptional results from it. So the first thing I recommend to you all right now is to read this interview. Through the examples that Mr. Bird shares, we can understand the essentials of good leadership and recognize examples from our own experiences that we can only hope! measure up to Birds standards. Many of my clients are official team leaders, but when they share examples of their leadership, I push them for more depth and greater detail to spotlight that leadership for the admissions committees. For example, if Bird were writing his own HBS leadership essay (#3) in 400 words, he might have just talked about the morale of the team and his dedication to improving it. What made Birds leadership example truly memorable was the way he conducted that discussion, and any HBS essay that omitted such detail unfortunately might not have earned even a highlighting mark from the adcom reviewing team. For example, Bird describes the moment he sat 30 Ratatouille developers down and told them that the past years work was off the mark the computer and artistic work were well done but would not connect audiences with the growth and development of the movies main character. I stopped and thought for a second. I thought, these guys have been sent down blind alleys for a couple of years. They want to know that Im not doing anything lightly and that if Im going to make them do a bunch more work, its for a reason. So I said, This movie is about a rat who wants to enter the human world. We have to make that a visual choice for the character. If you have all of the rats walking on two legs, theres no separation between him and the other rats. If we have this separation as a visual device, we can see the character make his transformation and choose to be on two legs, and he can become more or less ratty, depending on his emotional state. That brings the audience into the characters mind. I spent six minutes saying all this and the guy was initially scowling. But gradually the scowl went away, and he said, OK. Once I gave that answer, everyone felt, OK, were on this ship and were going toward a definite destination. That story immediately grabs the reader: it shows introspection, vision, and true leadership. Bird obviously understands what it takes to motivate people to excel, and that talent is a fundamental ingredient to innovation. His ability to translate motivation and morale into action and results transform him into a truly exemplary leader. The details in Birds thought process and the implementation of his ideas make his Ratatouille experience a truly compelling story. Similar details comprise the best application essays. They present that connection between thought, action, and impact that demonstrates the applicant is worthy of a place in the top programs. editors are writers and editors with extensive experience pulling out the details from their clients to demonstrate exemplary leadership. This works shows that the people no longer use the naturalistic approach, but a bold, more idealized, representation of its people. The art of Benin is a royal art, only the oba could commission the works. This work was commissioned in ivory, but most of the works were commissioned in brass. The Benin transition from naturalistic to stylize is better explained in the brass heads. It ranges from small, thinly cast, and naturalistic to large, thickly cast, and highly stylized. The conclusion of scholars is that in their Early Period, their heads were small and naturalistic from the Ife influence. Heads then grew increasingly stylized during the Middle Period. Then in the Late Period, the heads were very large and heavy, with angular stylized features and an elaborate beaded crown. In Mexico there was also portraitures. Australian Mineral Exploration Review

Question: Describe about the Report for Australian Mineral Exploration Review. Answer: Introduction: Australia is known for having ample amount of natural resources in the world. It is the significant exporter of minerals by producing 19 minerals from approximately its four hundred operating mines. Country has the presence of minerals across all states. Australian minerals are an important asset for the economy, contributing its ten per cent of gross domestic product (GDP) 2012-13. Its mining activities not only help to accumulate the money by exporting its mineral across countries but also help to generate employment opportunities in the country. Around 266000 people directly employed through mining industry (Australian Bureau of Statistics June 2012). Body: As per the Bureau of Resources and Energy Economics (BREE), Australia is largest mineral exporter, exported (excluding oil and gas) worth around $107 billion for the year of 2012-13. This export accounts for 59% of goods and services and 71% of merchandise exports. Countrys largest exporter for minerals and metals are China, Japan, South Korea and India. Some minerals like Nickel, LNG, and Garnet are found only in western part of Australia. Following table shows its mineral production by regions. It contributes around 48 million tons of rare earth oxides out of the worlds total share of 95.27 million tons. Australias has its share of rare earth oxides (REO) to worlds economic resources is at 1.65 million tons. Until 1995 Australia was the lead producer of rare earth oxides. This rare earth oxides extraction is basically from monazite (a byproduct of heavy mineral like rutile, zircon and sand mining for ilmenite). Historically, Australia was the significant exporter of monazite. This monazite is basically come from heavy mineral sands mine. During 1952 to 1995 the export of monazite was around 265 kilotons. Rare earths consist of group of 15 elements which have atomic numbers ranging from 57 to 71 (holmium, lanthanum, promethium, samarium, gadoli nium, europium, lutetium, terbium, dysprosium, erbium, neodymium thulium, ytterbium, cerium and praseodymium,). The larger demand for rare earth oxides is attributed due to future expansion in hybrid transport vehicles followed by petroleum, glass, polishing and other electronic machineries. Europium and terbium which are known for its precious value, small in their volume are used in the production of phosphors. This is widely used for televisions and energy efficient light purpose globally. Currently there is no rare earth production in Australia, mining started in 2007 at the Mount Weld deposit situated in the region of Western Australia, resultant outcome 98,000 cubic meters of ore being accumulated expecting its ending of a concentration plant at the mining site. The accumulation will be exported to an innovative materials plant that is built in Malaysia. There is one rare earth oxides extraction project going on in Western Australia and feasible research undertaken in some par t of Australia like the Northern Territory and New South Wales. We can expect that the country becomes a rare earth oxides exporter once again in future. The production for rare earths started at small scale in Australia. It is located at Byron Bay in New South Wales. A small amount of monazite is processed to produce cerium oxide which is useful for glass polishing. In the year 1969, Port Pirie (in South Australia) was known for its production of various compounds like cerium, lanthanum, yttrium and thorium, stopped its operations in 1972. Past decades have seen strong growth registered in favor of rare earths. This demand for rare earths is because of emerging technology and its application used in the field of glass, polishing, metal alloys and magnets sectors. It accounts 80% of the total market demand of 124,000 tons of rare earth oxides (REO). Australian Mineral Exploration Review and Australias Identified Mineral Resources annually review the highlight of mineral exploration (including rare earth oxides). Conclusion: In spite of having richness of mineral resources, Australias economic performance has been impugned. During the nineteenth century Australia was the leading producer of rare earth oxides but it was an incompetent in other minerals, mainly bauxite, coal, and iron ore. A country like Australia which has strong mining sector, why this has been so? The factor may be its small population. Australia has small population to its area and adverse climatic condition, desert regions always the reason for discouragement to the labor mobility across globe. Its adding a pressure on its old demographic generation. Recent researches have emphasized that countries which have abundance of natural resource (particularly minerals) has adverse consequences for economic growth (Gavin Wright and Jesse Czelusta, October 2003). The Importance Of A College Ed Essay Example For Students

The Importance Of A College Ed Essay The Importance of a College Education You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give (Winston Churchill, circa 1940) Learning the importance of getting a good college education did not come to me until I was 31 years old. Many of my friends, and colleagues and I were of the same age, however they were far beyond me in educational levels. It was for this reason, and other reasons, including better society levels, and the ability to achieve my career goals, that I decided to go back to college. With rare exceptions, all Americans will need to participate in some sort of postsecondary, occupational skill-development program if they are to be productive enough in the new knowledge-based economy to earn for themselves and their families a decent standard of living. And understanding this led me to my decision to return to school. We will write a custom essay on The Importance Of A College Ed specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Upon graduation from high school in 1987, and I immediately began working. My first job was was with the United States Navy where I stayed for almost 7 years. I attended Central Texas College as well during this time. Unfortunately, my heart and mind were not in my studies. I was more or less going to please others and because I thought it was the right thing to do. After three years of playing around and getting mediocre grades I decided to just concentrate on the Navy and my new family. Work within the Navy was fine. It taught me how to use the most important computer applications and learn great interpersonal and business relation skills. It was because of this 40 hour a week schedule that I completely cut off school for 5 years. I did not realize the impact this would have on my future. My mind told me I did not need a degree as long as I had a full time job with a good salary. But I soon realized that this blue collar work was not something I wanted to remain in for the rest of my life. While many of my peers were progressing, getting promotions and higher salaries, I remained the ever so needed administrative assistant in the Navy and now in the civilian world, preparing for my release from the Navy. I have to admit, I am great at what I do, or so I have been told on many occasions. However, the majority of what I do is not challenging enough to hold my interest for a long period of time. I have an intelligent mind and I intend to put it to full use. I want the doors of opportunity to come my way, and getting a proper college education will be the key. I have an even a greater chance to succeed because I will have work experience behind me as well my degree. Still and all, if I could do it again, I would have immediately attended college right after my high school graduation. If I had taken the correct course I would have already graduated and would probably be in a higher paying position. I was warned time and time again to go to school, because work would always be there. A hard head makes a soft behind. Personal growth through college education is an amazing thing, that is another reason I decided to go back is because I saw my beautiful 65 year-old mother walk the stage and proudly receive her Bachelors Degree in Nursing in the summer of 1998. She raised her children, and retired from 20 years of service at North Austin Medical Center as a Licensed Vocational Nurse and still decided to go back and get a degree. My mother has my utmost respect for her dedication for higher education. Even after all these years she couldve just relaxed and enjoyed the fruits of her labor, instead she chose to attend college again. After weighing all of my options and seeing all the signs I knew it was time to get back in the game.
